Callis 32
for the love of speed
Once we had objective performance data it became clear that we had to do it!

When 32" started to become a possibility for the next generation of the Callis, we saw challenges and an opportunity at the same time. Once we had objective performance data, it became clear that we had to do it! Between 8 and 16 Watts (depending on terrain and tire) at 35 km/h is more than we could find elsewhere.

Mean Elevation is the reference line: the closer a lap follows it, the better the model matches the real elevation profile.
We used the Virtual Elevation Method on an out-and-back course that can be characterized as a bumpy category 1 gravel road.
As an energy-equivalence illustration, extrapolating this difference over the distance of Unbound 200 would correspond to roughly 463 m of elevation gain. *
Expressed in more familiar terms, at 35 km/h and an 86 kg system weight, the measured difference corresponds to an 11.7 W reduction in rolling resistance.
*This is not a prediction as surface conditions vary considerably, but it illustrates the magnitude of the measured difference.

Fit Guide
One Size,
different fits
Use the 30 mm offset seatpost with a shorter stem to recreate a traditional position with a 74° seat angle. Use the zero offset seatpost with a longer stem for a progressive, forward-oriented position. Choose 15 mm offset for a position in between. The forward-oriented position might put you on a larger frame size than what you would typically ride. Shorter riders who can tolerate a forward position can combine a zero offset seatpost with a short stem to fit a size larger than they would usually ride.

Traditional | 30 mm offset | 74° effective seat tube angle
The - Watt-Saving - Spec - Pack
As on all our bikes, we take component choices very seriously, down to the lowest price point. You get aerodynamic gains from the Faserwerk Luftschneider cockpit and Kornkreis wheels. Rolling resistance gets taken care of by Schwalbe's 32" G-One race tires that are set up tubeless and the chain received the Ceramicspeed UFO treatment. In the end, all those choices end up saving Watts additional to the newly gained rolling resistance reduction of the 32" wheel, giving you the fastest possible bike.

FAQ
What is the minimum body height to ride a 32" Callis?
Depending on fit preferences, experience shows that riders down to a height of 165cm can fit size medium. If you can tolerate a forward position and combine a zero offset seatpost with a short stem you might fit a size larger than you would usually ride. We highly recommend a professional bike fitting at your local dealer.
Can I mount fenders?
No, you can not fit fenders.
Which cranks are compatible
You can fit Cranks with a 50 mm chainline and Chainrings up to 50 tooth. Single Chainring only.
Can I use a mechanical derailleur?
This bike is optimized for wireless shifting only.
